Konetes Painting was founded by James Konetes in 1973 in response to the need for painters willing to take on some of greatest industrial challenges that the steel city had to offer. In the early days they focused on larger scale commercial and industrial jobs such as sandblasting and painting bridges, water towers, and the tall additions to the city skyline.
As the demand for painting houses, offices, and retail centers began to increase, Konetes Painting rose up to meet this need as well. However, having walked many narrow ledges and climbed countless tall structures, Konetes Painting began to gain notoriety for painting difficult to reach places with ease and skill. Due to the willingness to take on challenging projects, Konetes Painting also began to develop a host of carpentry and refinishing skills because they would go where other craftsmen preferred not to.
In more recent times they have made use of their experience and skill for more challenging yet somewhat less daring work by painting mansions, large estates, and retail showrooms. However the one thing they have always done and continued to enjoy doing is painting local homes. Getting to know the people of Pittsburgh has been one of the most rewarding parts of the last 40+ years. They are thankful to God for their gifts and abilities, and are thankful to their customers for making their work so fulfilling.
To this day, James Konetes still leads the company he founded and is personally involved in the painting of every home, business, and project.
